Hyalite Opals share mostly the same composition as other opals, specifically in their bodies’ mixture of water and silicon dioxide. However,  they don’t have the same internal mineral structure as the "average" opal -  the inner fire that causes the play of color in precious opals are absent. The rarer Hyalite Opals have a fluorescence, displaying a change in color if placed under short-wave UV light. It’s the presence of uranium that gives the Hyalite Opal it's fluorescence.

 The amount and type of uranium in the stone is astronomically small and fully contained within the gem so there is no danger - rather it provides a positive energetic signature to this rare gem for healing - attracting the Green Ray of healing. The Green Fluoresence brings the energies of hidden gifts, knowledge and wisdom into self actualization through the heart chakra into the bodies and system

 

Grading Hyalite Opal

Finding clear Hyalite Opal is rare plus to have the fluorescence is also rare. All our stands have both components in slightly varying degrees.  Our normal grade will relate to the clarity of the beads and then we have noted the level of fluorescence too. All the material used in our necklaces falls into the rarest form of this gem found on the planet.
